MLB HOME RUN DERBY X

Home Run Derby X is MLB’s newest cross-over event format - it combines legendary MLB players, softball stars, and local talent for a team-structured Home Run Derby with a defense.

This past May, we launched the Home Run Derby X social channels (Instagram & X), & since then, I have served as the event’s first-ever social media manager. Since May, we have amassed 11k followers, 22m views (14.8m occurring during August & September), and have had over 500k interactions with our content.

Throughout the summer, I worked closely with MLB live content creators, Fresh Tape Media, and a video editor to come up with a creative vision for each event and then bring that content vision to life. My favorite & most high performing content bits are linked below!

PLAYERS PLAYING MLB THE SHOW

In the final week of our 2025 Home Run Derby X tour, we were contacted by MLB the Show with the news that they were releasing new Home Run Derby X themed player cards. On short notice, I devised a plan to create collaborative content of our Home Run Derby X players playing as themselves on the video game. This was shot, edited, and pushed out on socials within 2 hours of our HRDX championships!

HSM Reunion

This bit speaks for itself, I fear! (One of our higher performing posts with 14k likes)

Grady Emerson/Morgan Wallen Intro

Even though we don’t yet have a TikTok account, I shot this entirely on TikTok to post on IG. We used a pre-existing sound that was 17 seconds long & even though this turned out great and was a one-take wonder, there was a lot of BTS choreographing that went into this!

Jake Arrieta/Adam Wainwright Zoolander Meme

I worked closely with the Iowa Cubs content team to get this one done - Jake & Adam really gave 100% effort here! Also over 1m views on this video alone! P.S. if you look really closely in the background of the video, I am cueing Jake on when to turn around in time with the video!

Amanda Lorenz/Ashton Lansdell High School Musical Social Reel

We really tried to lean into the High School Musical themed content during our Salt Lake City Championship event 1) Because who doesn’t love High School Musical and 2) Because Cole Tucker (featured at the end of this video) is married to Vanessa Hudgens!

FULL CLUBHOUSE: HRDX EDITION

This might be, hands down, the best thing that we produced all summer! We took inspiration from the San Francisco Giants version of this from over a decade ago and made it into our own to introduce our teams playing in our Championship weekend in Salt Lake City!

TEAM WILD CARD INTROS

I had a very clear vision of what I wanted this content bit to be long before we arrived in Salt Lake City, and the Wild Card team took it and ran with it!

Rachel Garcia Hype Reel

It took 4 events to get this hype reel right! I had a vision for a piece of content that looked like this all summer: a player calling their shot right into a hype reel of them popping off. Enter Rachel Garcia!

5120x1080 Cinematic Video

This style of video was trending right as we were finishing up the tour, so naturally we had to create our own version! One of the best parts of working with social media channels that have just freshly launched is the freedom that you have to develop the brand’s social media voice. Throughout the summer, I’ve come to the conclusion that we rest somewhere between this sort of incredibly aesthetic content and the fun, social trend-driven reels you see above!

MLB COLLABORATIVE POSTS

Home Run Derby X began as an international event geared toward creating new baseball fans, meaning that when our social media accounts launched, they had a slightly different vision and purpose from the main @mlb accounts. Throughout the summer, I collaborated with the main MLB social team to come up with content ideas that fit their brand, style, and goals while also remaining true to the uniqueness of Home Run Derby X. Some of those posts were our most high-performing of the summer! See samples below.

Kansas City Royals Reunion Promo Content

I created this post ahead of our Kansas City event, which was our first Home Run Derby X event hosted in a Major League stadium ever & was the 2015 World Series Champions reunion! 701k views, 21k likes, 140 shares, & 286 saves!

Nick Swisher Highlight Content

This is one of highest-performing post to-date! 679k views, 23k likes, 24 comments, 252 shares, & 328 saves. I created the cover slide!

OU Softball/OKC Event Promo Content

While this post now is not one of our highest performing posts, it was when it was posted! 227k views, 5.3k likes & 228 shares. This was definitely one of our big content breakthroughs this summer!

Adam Wainwright Highlight Content

Also one of our higher-performing posts! 532k views, 23k likes, 287 saves.

SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE

This past December & March, I had the opportunity to assist the SEC’s Director of Digital & Social and the SEC content team during their championship events. During the events, I captured content (primarily action shots and shots like this one, pictured left!), created copy, and updated the social channels throughout each game! My favorite shots and posts are linked below!

THE CANES BASEBALL

My first job out of college was with the Canes Baseball, an elite high school travel baseball team. While I grew significantly in my photography skills over the course of that summer, my primary role was bolstering the Canes’ TikTok & social presence.

While working with the team (June & July of 2024), I grew the TikTok account by 15k followers and amassed 250k likes across 10 posts. A few of my favorite posts are linked below!

PRO5 BASEBALL ACADEMY

I have worked with PRO5 Baseball Academy, an elite high school baseball development center since August of 2024 as their primary social media coordinator & marketing manager. In this role, I am in charge of photography, videography, graphic design, content planning, and so much more.

Since then, I have organically grown the Instagram by 2k followers and amassed 600k interactions with the account during baseball season. I also launched the TikTok account and gained 1k followers in the first six months as well as over 100k likes.
